  1. I think that songs with a hymn like structure is far more likely to survive rather than those with middle 8's etc. I voted for In Christ alone as I also think it appeals to a really wide range of congregations. The servant king is another long liver.
    Each decade develops a certain style.
    In the eighties it was twinkley twee sounds, short songs always to be sung twice. At the moment the trend seems to be for low verses and excruciatingly high chorus with a bridge. They just don't seem to have the longevity. Keith Getty and Stuart Townend are my votes for still being around in 100 years. (well not them they'd be a bit doddery, but a few of their songs)
